Some popular Xperia devices are going to get a software update soon. Sony has just announced that they are rolling an update to its Xperia phones. This would be wonderful news for all those users who have been waiting for this update for many weeks.
“Sony Xperia P, GO, U and Sola will soon get a software update, but not jelly bean for now.”
This news could be a little bit embarrassing for the people who were expecting an Android 4.1 or 4.2 jelly bean update. However, this update would be rolling out your Xperia phones at the beginning of 2013.
If you are using Gingerbread Android 2.3 on your device, then this time you will definitely get the Ice Cream Sandwich. Depending upon the model of your phone, changes would be made in order to enhance the user experience.
“Improvements to the messaging, stability, NFC, camera, Wi-Fi and hotspot functionality are expected to be rolled out from Sony.”
This is not all done but, bug fixes and performance tweaks are also included in the upcoming software update. This would make the Sony Xperia P and other phones of this line work efficiently and flawlessly. I suggest you to keep on checking your notification bar so that the update can be grabbed whenever it hits your device.
Users of the Xperia Go, Xperia Sola and Xperia U will be able to get the OTA update, as they have already updated to the Ice Cream Sandwich. However, you can update your device to the ICS if still running Gingerbread.
We know the Xperia P users have waited for so long praying for the Ice Cream Sandwich update. Here is the time to wait a little bit more because soon their phones will be upgraded.
No exact date or time has been come into view about the roll out but, we will let you know once the update is on its way. Therefore, you just need to stay connected with us.
