Use of the Android devices has risen up to a great extent and most people prefer to have Smartphones and tablets based on the Google’s mobile operating system. Even many users have switched from iOS to Android just because of use-friendly and handy features of the latter.
According to analyst firm Gartner,
“Google Android will reach one billion shipments in the year 2014, while the sales of the Windows PC will decline.”
Figures of Gartner shows that global shipments of the total devices including tablets, smartphones and PCs will reach 2.35 billion in 2013, this is a 5.9% increase from the last year. However, the sales of PCs are expected to drop by 36 million to 305 million, this is a 10.6 percent less than the previous year.
Between Android, Blackberry, iOS and Windows, Android showed the biggest growth according to the Gartner’s report. According to this particular report, Google’s mobile operating system has jumped from 505,509 devices dispatched in 2012 to 866,781 devices shipped in the current year (2013).
The analyst firm has forecasted that 1,061,270 devices will be shipped in the year 2014. This will be a wonderful achievement for Google because no other mobile OS has reached this huge sales volume. Users prefer to use a tablet or phablet instead of a regular-sized smartphone. That’s why tablet shipments will help Android to increase its number of shipments.
With this increase, competition will become tougher for the competitors like BlackBerry, iOS and others. They need to adopt workable strategies in order to keep up reaping higher profits. Otherwise, they might not be able to sustain in the market. Android never compromises on the quality of functions and features that they offer to their consumers. That’s the reason why they are on top of the pile when it comes to the best Mobile OS.
